Xinomavro
Naoussa gives Xinomavro a celebrated red-wine home on the eastern slopes of Mount Vermio.
Red fruit, dried tomato and savoury spice, often with fresh acidity and firm tannins.
Naoussa PDO is a dry red-wine origin based entirely on Xinomavro. Its tannins and acidity can support ageing, while vineyard and winemaking choices offer a range from fragrant, approachable bottles to firmer expressions. Do not confuse the protected wine zone with every vineyard in the wider Imathia district. Producer, site and vintage make rewarding points of comparison.
