Oestrich introduces generous Rheingau Riesling country, with Rhine-facing slopes and a wealth of named vineyards.
Peach, citrus and floral notes with a fresh palate; richness and sweetness vary by bottle.
Oestrich is a distinct wine locality within Oestrich-Winkel, rather than another spelling of Winkel. Doosberg illustrates its Riesling vineyards and loess-loam setting, though that one site does not define every local soil. The village name, vineyard and producer each add a different level of information. Compare dry and sweeter Rieslings with the full label in view to discover differences in fruit, texture and freshness.
