Bastei is the registered individual vineyard in Traisen, within the Nahe protected origin.
Citrus and orchard-fruit flavours with fresh acidity. Sweetness, texture and maturity depend on the individual wine.
Bastei belongs to the wine-growing locality of Traisen, within the Burgweg collective designation and Bereich Nahetal. Riesling offers a useful introduction to this vineyard. The named site identifies the place; producer, harvest and sweetness describe the individual wine. The legal registered vineyard and the VDP classified footprint are separate definitions, so a classification should be read alongside the full origin.
