Vigneti Cenci

Italy

Vigneti Cenci is a family-run estate in Cologne, Franciacorta, at the foot of Monte Orfano. Founded by physician, writer and Alpino Nelson Cenci, who revived the historic La Boscaiola farmhouse and its vineyards, it is now managed by his daughter Giuliana and grandson Maurizio, with oenologist and agronomist Massimo on the team. The estate grows Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Nero on south-west-facing slopes, with Pinot Bianco as a particular focus. Its Franciacorta wines are made traditionally and with low intervention, using only the natural sugars of the grapes for both fermentations, very low sulphite levels and low dosage. Slow lees ageing and the mineral, southern-exposed terroir aim to preserve the vineyard’s aromas, freshness and character.
