Weingut Bernhard is a family-run estate in Wolfsheim, Rheinhessen, led by Jörg Bernhard and his daughter Martina. The winery farms biodynamically and is certified organic, participating in the EULLa ecological agriculture programme and producing vegan wines. Its approach centres on living soils, cover crops, biodiversity and avoiding artificial fertilisers, including bee-friendly flower-meadow projects. Wines are made with spontaneous fermentation, maceration and post-maceration, then often aged in used wooden barrels to express local terroir. Riesling, Grauburgunder, Silvaner and Scheurebe are among the key varieties, with village wines sourced from distinctive local sites. Martina and Jörg combine family continuity with a clear commitment to natural, characterful wines and social engagement through the Sisters in Wine initiative.
