Vigneti Vumbaca

Italy

Based in Cirò, Calabria, Vigneti Vumbaca farms organically, without chemical products, focusing on native varieties including Gaglioppo, Greco Bianco and Pecorello. The estate’s vineyards occupy about six hectares within a 13-hectare property, on partly hilly clay-sandy and clay-calcareous soils. Its work combines traditional cultivation with the restoration of old alberello-trained vines, alongside cordone speronato systems. The winery’s roots reach back to 1984, when Christian Vumbaca’s mother and uncle acquired the first land in Contrada Sant’Anastasia; Christian, formerly a lawyer, now works as the vigneron. A member of FIVI since 2020 and of the Cirò Revolution, Vigneti Vumbaca is committed to expressing Cirò through local grapes and established vineyard traditions.
