Producer

Stefano Zoli

Italy

Stefano Zoli is a sole proprietor and hands-on winemaker in Matelica, Marche, producing artisanal Verdicchio from old vines in the Apennine valley. He owns the vineyard and carries out the vineyard work himself, farming organically without formal certification and using only small doses of sulphur and copper. His approach is natural and minimally interventionist, with spontaneous fermentation, no malolactic fermentation, and ageing split between steel and concrete with frequent bâtonnage. The wines aim to express the grapes and vintage without shortcuts, resulting in limited-edition bottlings from a very small family estate.
