Ronchi di Manzano

Italy

Ronchi di Manzano is a historic, family-owned estate in Friuli Colli Orientali, founded in 1969 and led by Roberta Borghese, with daughters Lisa and Nicole involved. Winemaking is directed by Roberta and manager-winemaker Edi Clementin, whose new approach emphasizes balance, elegance and the expression of local varieties through seven monovarietal wines. The vineyards lie on ponca, the region’s mineral-rich marl and sandstone soils, and are cultivated with replanting, short pruning, minimal chemical inputs and strict hand-picking. Olive trees are also grown among the vines, supporting biodiversity and soil stability. The estate’s cellar is built into the hillside and includes traditional rock- and brick-lined spaces for vinification and ageing.
