Pietroso

Italy

Pietroso is a family-run estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, founded in the 1970s by Domenico “Delfo” Berni and now led by his grandson Gianni Pignattai with Gianni’s son Andrea and other family members. Working Sangiovese from five parcels, the estate focuses on Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino. Farming is manual, with hand-picked grapes, and the cellar approach is described as minimal intervention. Sustainability efforts include a photovoltaic system, though no organic or other certifications are reported. Gianni oversees winemaking, assisted by Andrea.
