Producer

Le Colture

Italy

Le Colture is a family-run producer in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene, Veneto, founded in 1983 by Cesare Ruggeri, with roots in family grape growing that stretch back centuries. The estate is still owned and operated by the Ruggeri family, with Silvia, Alberto and Veronica involved alongside Cesare. It focuses exclusively on Prosecco from Glera grown almost entirely in family vineyards within the Valdobbiadene DOCG, including Cartizze, on varied marl, sandstone and clay soils. Grapes are harvested by hand and the wines are made with the Charmat method. The winery emphasizes a sustainable approach, including organic fertilisation with compost and manure, though no formal certification is clearly established in the provided materials.
