Château Thivin

France

Château Thivin is a historic, family-run estate in Odenas on Mont Brouilly in Beaujolais, owned by the Geoffray family since 1877 and now in its sixth generation with Claude, Evelyne, and Claude-Edouard Geoffray. Its vineyards are centered on Côte de Brouilly and Brouilly, with additional wines from Beaujolais Blanc, Rosé, and Beaujolais-Villages. The estate completed its conversion to organic viticulture around 2020, following practices such as manual harvesting, no insecticides, plowing, compost, cover crops, hay and flower strips, and other biodiversity measures. Winemaking is traditional and low-intervention, with gravity-fed cellar work, whole-cluster fermentations, and aging in old oak. The wines are known for precise terroir expression, minerality, and pure, crunchy fruit.
