Niepoort

Portugal

Niepoort is a family-owned Portuguese producer led by Dirk Niepoort in Beira. The estate focuses on natural, affordable wines, including fresh, easy-drinking reds made entirely from Baga. Fruit comes from old vines, around 40 to 100 years of age, planted on calcareous clay over limestone soils. Farming is organic and biodynamic, with certification noted, and the winemaking emphasizes minimal intervention, including no added sulfur for these wines. The style is straightforward, vibrant, and accessible, with some bottlings offered in convenient 1-liter format.
