Producer

Painted Wolf Wines

South Africa

Painted Wolf is a boutique South African producer based in the Western Cape, founded by Emma Borg and supported by early investor Billy “Guillermo” Hughes. Rather than owning vineyards, it works with growers in areas including Swartland and Darling who share its conservation values, sourcing organic, sustainable and biodynamically farmed grapes, including fruit from the heritage Welgegund site. Winemaker Jeremy Borg uses both spontaneous fermentations and cultured yeasts. The wines are certified vegan-friendly, sustainable, organic and biodynamic, reflecting a strong environmental ethos. A portion of sales supports African wild-dog conservation.
