Moccagatta is a family-owned Barbaresco estate in Piedmont, rooted on the Moccagatta hill since the mid-1800s in the Minuto family. The winery takes its name from the family farmhouse inherited by Mario Minuto in 1952, and today Stefano and Martina continue the work of earlier generations. Vineyards in Barbaresco and Neive lie at 210–300 meters on Sant’Agata Fossil Marls, calcareous clay-rich soils that contribute elegance and complexity. The estate focuses on quality through meticulous vineyard work, including pruning, canopy management and fruit thinning adapted to each vintage, supported by modern cellar equipment. Farming follows low-impact methods, with integrated pest control, sexual confusion, strategically placed nesting boxes, organic fertilizers and cover crops between the rows.
