Alceño is a long-established Jumilla winery in Murcia, founded in 1870 and regarded as the area’s oldest commercial winery. Originally founded by Roque Martínez, it is now owned by the Bastida family, which has maintained the house identity while modernizing the cellar. The winery is closely associated with Monastrell, working with vineyards at 400–950 metres, including old vines and pie franco plantings on local slopes. Viticulture is shaped by dry conditions, with 80% of vines rain-fed and largely bush-trained, supporting low-impact farming; the estate also notes organic-friendly conditions, though no formal certification is cited. Under the long direction of Juan Miguel Benítez García, Alceño combines traditional Jumilla viticulture with modern winemaking, producing Monastrell-led reds as well as white, rosé, sparkling, and organic wines.
