Giovanni Almondo

Italy

Giovanni Almondo is a family-run estate in Montà d’Alba, Roero, Piedmont, led by Domenico Almondo with his sons Federico and Stefano. The Almondo family has been rooted in Montà since the 14th century, and the family remains directly involved in both vineyard and cellar work. Their vineyards are farmed organically, with certified organic Arneis bottlings including Bricco delle Ciliegie and Vigne Sparse. The estate is especially known for single-vineyard Arneis and also produces Nebbiolo and Barbera from Roero’s distinctive sandy, fossil-rich soils. Their approach combines precise viticulture, minimal intervention, and modern cellar practices in service of wines that emphasize aroma, freshness, minerality, elegance, and a clear expression of Roero.
