Freemark Abbey is a historic Napa Valley producer founded in 1886, with roots tied to Josephine Tychson, one of Napa Valley’s first female vintners. Now under single-family ownership, the winery remains focused on classically structured Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Bordeaux varietals that honor tradition while reflecting Napa’s leading vineyard sites. Fruit comes from storied vineyards including Bosché, Sycamore, Colline, Spring Mountain, and Mount Veeder, where varied soils and Napa’s warm days and cool nights bring structure, freshness, minerality, and longevity. Long associated with an elegant, age-worthy Cabernet style, Freemark Abbey continues that legacy today under winemaker Kristy Melton.
