Cantina Fongoli is a family-owned estate in Umbria, managed by winemaker-owner Angelo Fongoli. Founded by Decio Fongoli in the early 1900s, it remains privately operated by the family and produces wines exclusively from estate-grown grapes. Ecocert organic certified since 2011, the estate follows biodynamic principles, using no synthetic chemicals and focusing on biodiversity, soil health, green manure, and self-produced preparations. Winemaking is low-intervention, with spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfite use, and no filtration or fining. Whites are made to preserve freshness, while reds may ferment with whole clusters and mature in large Slavonian oak barrels. The estate also produces olive oil and grappa.
