Producer

Erik Banti

Italy

Founded by Erik Banti in 1981, this Tuscan producer is based near Manciano, with a newer winery near the Albegna River. Recognized as a pioneer of Morellino di Scansano, Banti helped bring the appellation and Maremma wines to wider Italian and international attention. The winery handles fermentation, aging, and bottling on site, working with its own vineyards and grapes purchased exclusively from neighboring growers. Two of its three vineyards are organically certified, while a total-green program introduced in 2022 includes solar energy, improved water management, lightweight bottles, and zero-emission closures. Its focus is primarily on Morellino di Scansano DOCG and Maremma Toscana DOC wines, alongside extra-virgin olive oil and developing almond and pistachio cultivation.
