Domaine La Suffrène

France

Domaine La Suffrène is a family-owned Bandol estate in La Cadière d’Azur, with vines in the family for over a century and a pioneering role in the appellation. Owner-winemaker Cédric Gravier took over in 1996, continuing the work of his grandfather Fortuné Piche. Its fragmented vineyards across five villages lie on clay-limestone soils shaped by Provençal sun and maritime freshness, including historic Carignan and Mourvèdre plots. Organic certification was obtained in 2021 after years of environmentally focused farming. The domaine practices agroforestry, manual low-yield viticulture, natural fertilization, reduced phytosanitary use, and waste recycling, with a strong emphasis on biodiversity. It also produces organic olive oil from its own certified grove and mill.
