Domaine J.-A. Ferret

France

Founded in 1840 in Fuissé, Domaine Ferret is a historic Pouilly-Fuissé estate owned by Maison Louis Jadot since 2008. Long known for benchmark Chardonnay, the domaine built its reputation on Jeanne Ferret’s detailed identification of top terroirs and parcel-by-parcel vinification, which led to the Tête de Cru and Hors Classe cuvées. Jeanne also pioneered estate bottling, later continued and refined by Colette Ferret. Harvesting is done by hand, and the cellar work emphasizes gentle pressing, gravity flow, varied fermentation vessels, lees ageing, and on-site bottling to preserve the wines. Leadership passed in 2023 to Clément Robinet, following generations of women winemakers including Jeanne Ferret, Colette Ferret, and Audrey Braccini.
