Domaine du Nozay

France

Domaine du Nozay is a family-owned Sancerre estate in Sainte-Gemme-en-Sancerrois, founded in 1970 by Philippe de Benoist and now run by his son Cyril de Benoist, who oversees the winemaking. Certified organic and biodynamic, the domaine also follows Vin Méthode Nature, with a low-intervention approach using indigenous yeasts and some élevage in barrel or amphora. Vineyard work emphasizes soil life, green manure, canopy management, and the vine’s natural defenses, while cellar work, including aging, filtration, and bottling, is carried out on the estate, often according to the lunar calendar. The estate is also noted for its family connection to Aubert de Villaine.
