Producer

Domaine A. Cailbourdin

France

Founded in 1980 by Alain Cailbourdin in the Loire Valley, Domaine A. Cailbourdin is a small, focused estate working Silex-laden Sauvignon Blanc. Certified-organic farming combines plowing, disbudding and leaf thinning to control yields naturally, while grapes are hand-harvested and kept to low yields. Separate vinification and stainless-steel aging preserve a clear expression of the fruit and site. Alain Cailbourdin oversees the winemaking; although ownership is attributed to him in the supplied notes, a later document lists A Maltaverne as proprietor.
