Château Haut-Bailly

France

Haut-Bailly is a historic family-owned estate in Pessac-Léognan, on Bordeaux’s left bank, owned by the Wilmers family since 1998 and led by Véronique Sanders with Chris Wilmers and technical director Gabriel Vialard. Its vineyards lie on well-drained gravel, sand and clay soils over faluns, with notable centenarian vines near the château. The estate emphasises sustainable viticulture through HVE and HQE Excellent certification, biodiversity initiatives, eco-grazing, agroforestry and reduced inputs. In the cellar, parcels are vinified separately in concrete vats with gentle extraction and careful temperature control. The house is known for a precise, balanced and timeless style focused on expressing terroir with elegance and restraint.
