Château Cantemerle

France

Château Cantemerle is a historic Haut-Médoc classified growth of 1855, documented since the 12th century and long associated with the Villeneuve and Dubos families before its acquisition by SMABTP in 1981. Based on gravel and silica-rich soils in Bordeaux, the estate is now managed by Laure Canu, with Eric Boissenot also referenced in the winemaking team and Philippe Dambrine noted as a former director. The property holds HVE3 certification and highlights an environmentally minded approach through a gravity-flow vat room, underground barrel cellar, reduced energy use and limited mechanical grape handling. Recent vintages are noted for greater vinosity and aromatic precision while retaining finesse and suppleness.
