Founded in 1933, Cave de Tain is a member-owned cooperative in the Northern Rhône Valley, working across the region’s key appellations including Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Cornas, Saint-Péray and Collines Rhodaniennes. It sources fruit from its growers while also farming estate vineyards, notably a Hermitage parcel inherited from founder Louis Gambert de Loche. The house emphasizes broad terroir expression through parcel selections and tailored vinification. Sustainability is central to its approach, with organic cuvées in each appellation, growers and estate vineyards engaged in organic farming or conversion, and added-sulfite-free winemaking introduced from 2015.
