Bodegas Enrique Mendoza

Spain

Family-owned Bodegas Enrique Mendoza was founded in 1989 in Alicante and is now run by Enrique Mendoza’s sons, Julián Mendoza Gracia and winemaker José “Pepe” Enrique Mendoza Gracia. The estate works with traditional Monastrell and Moscatel alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, seeking to express Alicante’s Mediterranean character. Its vineyards are farmed biodynamically and organically, without insecticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilizers, using compost, moisture sensors, indigenous yeasts and intentional water stress. The winery emphasizes minimal intervention and respect for people, landscape and territory; part of the Finca El Chaconero lies within a protected bird area and the Natura 2000 network. Wines are fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak.
