Anselmi

Italy

Anselmi is based in Monteforte d’Alpone in Veneto’s Soave area, where it produces white wines from hillside vineyards on volcanic tuff and calcareous soils. Founded by Almerino Anselmi in 1948, the estate was later reshaped by Roberto Anselmi, who moved the family from a wine-trading business toward estate viticulture on high hillside sites historically suited to white wine. The vineyards include historically significant areas, with some land linked to Church possessions in the 15th century. Anselmi emphasizes high-density planting, reduced yields, careful grape selection, and detailed winemaking supported by modern technology. Recent plantings of PIWI resistant varieties reflect a focus on sustainability and respect for the territory. Several wines take the name “Capitel,” the local word for the votive shrines found in the vineyards.
