Founded in 2003 near Noto, Sicily, Zisola is the Mazzei family’s third estate, owned and operated by a Florentine wine dynasty with almost 600 years and 24 generations of viticultural history. Its vineyards are officially certified organic, following a three-year conversion, with farming that excludes synthetic pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, and chemical fertilisers. Soil health is supported through green manure, composting, and mechanical vegetation management. Traditional Sicilian alberello bush training is used, including for Nero d’Avola. Winemaking is conducted with oenologist Carlo Ferrini.
