Italy

Talosa is a family-owned estate in Montepulciano, Tuscany, owned by the Jacorossi family since 1972. Its 33 hectares lie in the Pietrose area of the Pieve Le Grazie cru, at 350–400 metres, where Sangiovese is the focus for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Vin Santo. The vineyards have been farmed organically since 2007 and are harvested by hand, with careful parcel selection and respect for the territory. Winemaking is overseen by Cristian Pepi, using stainless-steel fermentation followed by aging in large tonneaux, French oak, and historic large barrels. Talosa’s distinctive cellar, beneath Palazzo Tarugi and Palazzo Sinatti in Montepulciano’s historic centre, dates to the 1500s and continues to house Vino Nobile aging in oak.
