Founded in 1998 by Christophe Reboul Salze, Château Gigault cultivates a single vineyard block in Bordeaux’s Côtes de Blaye. Its vines are predominantly Merlot, with Cabernet Franc, and average 30 years old. The estate follows sustainable practices including mechanical tillage, cover cropping on every third row, deleafing and green harvesting to limit yields; no formal certifications are reported. Winemaking is overseen by consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt, who frequently acts as winemaker. Salze also operates The Wine Merchant négociant business.
