Château Escot is a historic Cru Bourgeois estate in Lesparre-Médoc, Bordeaux, with vineyards spread across Lesparre, Civrac and Saint-Christoly. Acquired in 2019 by Czech wine enthusiast Richard Morávek and sommelier Vít Bartošek, it is undergoing a major restructuring of its vineyards, château, park and production facilities. The varied terroirs include gravel, sand, clay, limestone and pebbles, with vines averaging around 40 years old; a white vineyard was planted in 2020. Wines are made under AOP Médoc, Bordeaux White and Bordeaux Rosé designations, with reds at the core and white production introduced from 2022. Modern parcel-by-parcel vinification uses stainless-steel tanks, temperature control and oak maturation. The estate works with oenologist Hynek Vich and has been promoted to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, while developing wine tourism and aiming for Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.
