Bodegas Viñátigo is a family-run winery on Tenerife in the Canary Islands, founded in 1990 by fourth-generation winegrower Juan Jesús Méndez, who leads both the vineyards and the cellar. Ownership remains with the Méndez family, with Jorge Méndez also involved in viticulture and winemaking. The estate focuses on preserving native Canary Island grape varieties and follows an organic or biodynamic approach in the vineyard, with hand-harvested fruit, indigenous-yeast fermentations, and no chemical corrections in the winery. The style reflects a hands-on, artisanal philosophy rooted in local varieties and place.
