Malauva is a small, organic estate founded and owned by Elisa Cortese and Giovanni Adua in Castel Giorgio, Umbria, on the edge of the Alfina volcanic plateau at 550 metres. Its vineyards form part of a diversified ecosystem that also includes olive trees, woods, vegetable gardens and animals, reflecting a strong focus on sustainability. The estate works with regional varieties including Procanico, Drupeggio, Trebbiano and Sangiovese. Wines are made with native-yeast fermentation and bottled unfiltered and unfined, without added sulfites, expressing a natural, minimally interventionist style.
