Freire Lobo is a family-owned producer run by Elisa Freire Lobo and her family in Oliveira do Hospital, in Portugal’s Dão DOC, Beira. The estate farms 40–60-year-old vines at 560–600 meters altitude on granite, schist, and sandy soils. Viticulture is certified organic, with natural fertilization from local Serra da Estrela Bordaleira sheep manure to support soil fertility, and grapes are hand-picked. In the cellar, the wines are made with traditional foot treading in open-top tanks, reflecting a hands-on, traditional approach rooted in the vineyard.
