Finca Sandoval is based in Ledaña, in the heart of Manchuela, where it was founded in 1998 by journalist Víctor de la Serna. Since 2019, the estate has been run by a group of friends led by Ángel and Germán García-Cordero, with de la Serna remaining a major shareholder. It focuses on recovering Manchuela’s traditional, often old and nearly extinct varieties, including Bobal, Monastrell, Garnacha Tinta, Moravia Agria and Albilla Manchega, alongside Syrah. Certified organic, the vineyards are hand-harvested and farmed with environmental responsibility. Winemaking, overseen by Javier Revert, combines natural-yeast fermentations with traditional vessels such as tinajas and foudres. Its parcel-focused wines aim to express the region’s biodiversity, high-altitude vineyards and limestone-dominant soils.
