Château de Beaucastel

France

Château de Beaucastel is a historic, family-run estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, owned by the Perrin family and now guided across multiple generations, with Jean-Pierre, François and Marc Perrin leading winemaking. A pioneer of organic farming since the 1950s or 1960s and biodynamics since 1974, the estate works with deep respect for nature, terroir, and sustainability. Its vineyards lie in the northern part of the appellation, exposed to the Mistral, with old vines rooted in rolled pebbles, clay, sand, limestone, and marine molasse. Beaucastel grows all thirteen permitted Châteauneuf-du-Pape varieties, with Mourvèdre a particular hallmark, and follows a careful approach of hand harvesting, separate fermentations, blending, and élevage aimed at truth, balance, elegance, and aging capacity.
