Château Carbonneau is a family-run estate in Sainte-Foy Côtes de Bordeaux, owned and managed by the Franc de Ferrière family. Wilfrid and his son Pierre oversee winemaking, with the wider family involved across the estate. The vineyards, planted mainly to Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, benefit from clay-limestone soils, south/south-west exposure and the Atlantic climate. Carbonneau is Ecocert organic certified, Demeter biodynamic certified and holds HVE3 certification. Cattle grazing contributes natural manure to the farm, reflecting its integrated approach to the environment. The historic 19th-century property returned to estate winemaking in the 1990s, producing wines intended to express the character of its distinctive terroir.
