France

Château Belles-Graves is a historic family estate in Néac, Lalande de Pomerol, owned by the Theallet family since 1938 and now led by third-generation vigneron Xavier Piton, alongside Laurent Paulin. Its 17 hectares of vines, averaging 40 years old, are planted mainly to Merlot with Cabernet Franc on clay-gravel soils marked by iron-rich gravel and flint. The estate follows a responsible approach combining organic manuring, reasoned treatments, mechanical soil work, and elements of organic and biodynamic practice. Hand harvesting, rigorous sorting, gentle vinification, and carefully selected French oak aim to express elegance, complexity, and harmony. A modern, temperature-controlled cuvier supports the winemaking, while regular participation in independent wine fairs reflects the producers’ direct engagement with wine drinkers.
