Cantine Pellegrino is a historic, family-owned winery founded in 1880 in Marsala, Sicily, now in its sixth and seventh generation. Management is shared among the Pellegrino, Alagna, Renda, Tumbarello, and Bellina families. The estate owns about 150 hectares of vineyards across five family estates in western Sicily, each with distinct terroir dedicated to native varieties like Grillo, Nero d'Avola, Catarratto, and Zibibbo. It operates three solar-powered wineries. A strong commitment to sustainability is shown through certified organic farming, extensive use of solar energy and LED lighting, waste-water management, and multiple certifications (EMAS, ISO 14001, BIO AGROCERT, SOStain Sicilia, VIVA). The winery is particularly noted for its Marsala, produced in historic cellars, and for supporting the heroic, UNESCO-recognized alberello viticulture on Pantelleria.
