Attems is a historic estate in Friuli’s Collio, on terraced slopes west of Gorizia with south-facing vineyards shaped by a favorable microclimate and a biodiverse ecosystem. The Attems name is tied to local viticulture from as early as 1106, with Ribolla Gialla and Refosco recorded in the estate’s books in 1764. Originally owned by the Attems family, the estate was restored by Paolo and Virginia Giasone Attems Petzenstein and was acquired by Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi in 2000. Today, Gianni Napolitano oversees the vineyards and Daniele Vuerich directs winemaking. Attems focuses on expressing the territory, valuing both local varieties such as Ribolla Gialla and Friulano and other classic grapes suited to the site. No formal sustainability certifications are reported.
