Öko-Weingut Zang is a family-owned estate in Nordheim am Main, Franken, with a winegrowing tradition dating to 1640. Rainer Zang, a master winemaker and organic-wine pioneer, runs the winery with his wife Christa, while their son Maximilian gradually takes over. Certified organic since 1990 (DE-ÖKO-005), the estate uses diverse cover crops and organic matter to support biodiversity and soil vitality, and is a founding member of the Bund fränkischer Ökowinzer and part of the Slow Food network. Wines range from traditional Franconian varieties to natural and experimental cuvées, with spontaneous fermentation, full-lees maturation, and restrained sulfur use. The Gegenstrom wines explore skin fermentation and minimal intervention.
