Jaffurs Wine Cellars is an independently operated Santa Barbara winery founded by Craig Jaffurs, specializing in handcrafted Rhône-style wines, particularly Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Viognier. The winery owns no vineyards, instead working closely with premium Santa Barbara County growers and requiring limited yields and optimal farming practices. All grapes are crushed, pressed, cellared and bottled at its downtown Santa Barbara facility, where wines are made in small lots with a vineyard-first, New World independent approach. Meticulous tasting and blending trials, native fermentations, concrete and neutral vessels, whole-cluster techniques and restrained oak are among the tools used to preserve freshness, structure and site character.
