Domaine de la Chartreuse is a family-owned estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, run by the Rey family since 1961 and originally owned by Carthusian monks. Its vineyards lie on the La Crau plateau, where vines average 30 years old and are harvested by hand. The domaine has followed certified sustainable practices under HVE3 since 2019. Winemaker Juliette Carrere oversees separate fermentations in steel and concrete, with barrel aging before bottling in the historic vaulted cellars. The estate’s wines reflect a hands-on, traditional approach rooted in its distinctive site and long family ownership.
