Founded in 1647, Chivite is a historic Navarra producer whose winemaking tradition spans eleven generations. Its Legardeta estate in Villatuerta has an Atlantic-Continental climate and calcareous-sandstone, clay and limestone soils, supporting Tempranillo, Garnacha, Chardonnay and Syrah with slow, fresh maturation. Viticulture focuses on minimising environmental impact through natural cover crops, vertical soil work without inversion, low-impact crop protection and erosion control. Following Perelada’s 2017 acquisition, the premium wines are made under J. Chivite Family Estates, while Bodegas Gran Feudo represents the high-volume range. David González leads the winemaking team; Denis Dubourdieu was a long-standing advisor and creator of the celebrated Colección 125 Blanco and Vendimia Tardía.
