Founded in 1898 on the slopes of Mount Etna, Tenute Nicosia is a fifth-generation, family-owned winery with over a century of history intertwined with Sicilian viticulture. The estate controls the entire production chain from its own vineyards—including sites on Etna and in Vittoria—to bottling. Sustainability is central, with ten certifications covering organic, carbon-neutral, vegan, and energy-efficient practices, and participation in the VIVA program. The winery focuses on expressing Sicilian terroir through native varieties, producing a wide range of wines from Etna DOC to Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG, with an emphasis on low yields, manual harvesting, and careful selection.
