Garnacha de Fuego is a family-run project from Bodegas Breca in Aragón’s Calatayud DO, directed and owned by Jorge Ordóñez. It focuses on old-vine Garnacha de Aragón from high-altitude mountain vineyards, with vines planted between 1980 and 1990. The vineyards are farmed organically and dry-farmed, with traditional hand-trained Gobelet vines, minimal treatments, and low yields. Grapes are hand-harvested in small baskets. Winemaking is deliberately low-intervention, including spontaneous malolactic fermentation and brief aging in stainless steel and concrete, preserving the character of the Garnacha and its mountain sites.
