Family-run Domaine Denizot is based in Verdigny, near Sancerre, and is owned and operated by Thibault and Jennifer Denizot, continuing a family legacy begun by Thibault’s great-grandfather. The estate’s vineyards are centred on limestone-rich terroirs and are planted mainly to Sauvignon Blanc, alongside Pinot Noir for red and rosé wines. Farming is thoughtful and increasingly organic in approach: the domaine avoids herbicides and other chemical treatments, uses organic fertilizers, manages the canopy carefully, and harvests and sorts grapes by hand. In the cellar, the Denizots favour gentle, minimally interventionist winemaking, with natural fermentation practices and restrained use of larger-format oak. Their stated aim is to express the character of the soils through fresh, crisp, mineral whites and rosés, and elegant, fleshy reds.
