Founded in 1934 by a cooperative of 44 winemakers, Cave du Château de Chénas is a low-volume Beaujolais producer working with some of the region’s oldest vineyard parcels. The grapes are harvested by hand, with individual terroirs kept separate in thermoregulated steel tanks and small vessels. Premium cuvées are aged in French oak barrels in a 17th-century vaulted cellar, maintained at constant temperature and high humidity. Its broad range of 51 labels is produced in notably limited quantities, making the cave an unusually rare source of Beaujolais wines.
