Producer

Cantina Vecchia Torre

Italy

Founded in 1959 in Leverano, Salento, Vecchia Torre is a large cooperative winery built around approximately 1,100 member growers. Its wines come from vineyards across the region, with a focus on Salento varieties including Negroamaro, Primitivo and Malvasia Nera, alongside Vermentino, Chardonnay, Syrah and Trebbiano. The cooperative’s quality project, led by president Antonio Tumolo and enologist Ennio Cagnazzo, emphasizes native grapes, careful vinification and recognition of its growers’ work. Its historic barrel cellar, carved into living rock and renovated with French oak barriques, houses the Eccellenze and Riserva wines. Vecchia Torre combines longstanding rural roots with modern production, exports and year-round tastings in Leverano.
